September: The season of turning leaves, new shoes and back to school. Which is why our September 14th market is packed full of fresh ideas, recipes, designs and inspiration from our stallholders, along with some fabulous on-the-day offers for all ages.
We’re delighted to welcome @theFarm, a workshop venue in West Wiltshire in the sleepy village of Broughton Gifford, just 20 minutes from Bath. As the name suggests, classes are held in a beautiful old stone farmhouse which creates an informal and relaxed atmosphere – no distractions from the job in hand! There is also plenty of free parking, unlike in the centre of Bath!
While the atmosphere may be laid-back, all the tutors are highly experienced and offer a range of entertaining but high-quality classes from upholstery to lampshade making to crochet. Click here for further details about what’s on offer. And if you see anything you’d like to try, visit their stall at Green Park Station on September 14th and take advantage of their 10% discount offered exclusively at our market on that day only.
@theFarm are not only offering discounts and information on classes, but will also be running FREE workshops for kids (and adults), who will be able to print using stencils onto paper goodie bags that can then be filled with free treats to take home.
But @theFarm are not the only ones running kids’ activities. Dorset-based design company Gathered are bringing along their ceramics tutor who will be running kids’ ‘Paint a Plate’ sessions between 12pm and 2pm for just £10 a child. They’ll be able to paint and create under supervision and create something useful and memorable to be kept for ever or given as a gift.
Something for you
If you fancy awakening your creativity then have a go at the free printing sessions with @theFarm, or wander over to Francesca Kay’s stall, where she will show you how to make a personalised letterpress card. Choose a beautiful original letterpress printed letter and a choice of lovely patterned paper to mount it on.The alphabet press used to print this with is about 100 years old, so you will take home a little piece of printing history. £1.50 including envelope – Francesca will be on the main square and the card making will be at her stall.
We will of course, have our usual amazing array of talented makers and producers who will be displaying their new season stock, ideas and menus including natural cosmetics company Hive Originals who make their products using honey and a new furniture/homeware upcycler, Handsome Vintage, who brings a colourful new look to objects and furniture.
Not only that, but the Gathered design company are also offering a further 15% discount on any gift bought from their stall on the day if you quote the word ‘WHIMSICAL’.
